What is a smokers cough?

People who smoke regular develops a cough. This cough is caused by the body clearing out the chemicals that entered the airways and lungs through tobacco use.

If the cough is persistent, lasting for more than 3 weeks, it is known as a smoker’s cough. While the cough may begin as a dry cough, it can eventually produce phlegm. Other symptoms include a sore throat and chest pain.

Not all smokers have a smoker’s cough, but smoking indeed causes a smoker’s cough, it can lead to a variety of other conditions, such as bronchitis.

The most effective treatment for a smoker’s cough is to quit smoking. Quitting smoking removes the cause of the cough.

There are a few traditional treatments and home remedies to deal with smokers cough. Soothe your throat with cough drops, lozenges, or a saltwater gargle. Drink 6–8 glasses of water per day to keep the mucus in your lungs and throat thin. Elevate your head above the rest of your body while you sleep to make sure mucus doesn’t gather in your throat. Exercise 30 minutes per day regularly. Exercise loosens up your mucus and makes it easier to cough up phlegm. Avoid coffee or alcohol to help lessen the severity of your cough. Coffee and alcohol can dehydrate you and irritate, And a person can use few Ayurvedic medicines also to control smokers cough like
